Thank you to all the people who helped make our latest play come to life. Thank you to all the cast who put in much time and effort.

But now that the play has been performed, it's time to start thinking about new ideas for our next play. I am always looking for ideas, so if you have one, please respond to this post and we'll see what we can do!

I think your next play could be about friendships...the difference between boy's and girl's friendships. Michael and Chase have some very funny stories (that are true). Ask them what happened on Halloween and at the playground last summer. I see a huge difference between boys and girls. Then maybe a part about friendships between girls and boys at the middle school level. Finding your group of friends at this age is so important to the kids. When the kids get to middle school it can be frightening as they get separated from there friends from elementary school but they have an opportunity to find the kids that they have commonalities with. As for Michael, he met up with Chase at Brooklawn Bridge but they were friends when they were in Kindergarten and first grade. It has been interesting seeing all of the kids grow and mature and have fun!

Yes, it's true>> They develop so quickly in the three years in middle school. As a teacher of middle school I see how quickly the kids connect, disconnect and connect again with friends. I do see a difference with boys, because boys seem to overlook fights quickly.
I remember once (and it happens very rarely) a fight between two boys in the cafeteria before school. They started throwing punches and when it was broken up, went down to the office to get their detentions. I saw them two days later at recess playing football together and laughing. I asked them if they were friends, and they said yes. Before the fight? Yes, they answered. And after.

Girls.... well, they're a different story.
